Often our loved ones and long lost relatives leave us something behind. This may be a lock of hair, an envelope with a licked stamp or seal, a comb or brush - everyday objects.
Nowadays we are able to extract DNA from these items and tell you about their genetic past. In recent years extraction techniques have improved and costs decreased to the point where this is now affordable for all.
And when we couple this with our advanced tests that help to connect people with each other, it's a great combination.
Our lab has the forensic capability able to extract DNA from a variety of sources (as proven by the handling of the 2004 Tsunami cases from the Thai Government).
Below is a list of samples and our price list for DNA extraction.

The cost of specimen processing and extraction is provided above which takes into account the extra protocols and care required for these forensic specimens, which are often finite. This is addition to testing which includes Y-chromosome, mitochondrial (mtDNA) or other relationship tests. |

Although every effort is made to get a successful DNA extraction, this can not be guaranteed. On occasion, the DNA is far too degraded to be viable, although we would still have to charge for samples submitted. Please bear this in mind when sending in a sample to us. |
